Design Meeting

Today is a day that I have been looking towards for quite sometime now.  Let me start by giving some background. The venue that A and I are getting married at is called The Overlook.

 It is an old country club that was remolded to be a banquet venue. I absolutely LOVE it. It was the only place that while I was there, I could actually envision A and I having our wedding. My favorite part is the bricks on the columns as well as the chandeliers in the reception area. Aren't they just gorgeous?

There are some other things that made me pick this place

• Obviously the decor that is already there (chandelier, bricks, walk up, pond out back)
• The simplicity of it all 
• They do EVERYTHING for me on the day of. My bridal party, parents, or friends do not have to do a thing. My coordinator literally coordinates arrival times of my vendors and makes sure if my cake doesn't show up, she has a back up so I'll never know. 
• A and I will have 20 minutes after pictures and before the reception to be alone. We can eat our dinner, we can just sit, or we can decide to go celebrate with our guest. But they have it built in their plan for the day. That is something that I really was hoping to incorporate. 
• The decor (linens, table cloths, chair covers, centerpieces, photo booth) are all INCLUDED in my price AND decorated for me on my day of. 

Which leads us to why I am so excited for today. Today is my design meeting day. I get to meet with my coordinator and design lady to figure out what I want for chargers, table cloths, for the aisle, centerpieces etc. 

I am so excited. I have knocked off so much of the bigger stuff, that I feel like this is what I am missing in my wedding planning. My mom and I are going at 2, and I think she is just as excited as I am. Here is some of inspiration of what I want.

 I must say, I am excited that Pinterest is around. HAHA. I know that majority of my inspiration is from the Wedding Boards on Pinterest.

InstaFriday Link Up

Hello my blogging friends! It is Friday again. Lets look back at what this week held.

MNF! Anthony and I had some friends over to watch the Texans become 5-0! They were playing the New Jersey Jets. Even though I was all about the Texans winning. I had to cheer on # 11 from the Jets. Jeremy Kerley! We went to college together. He had a pretty good game!

Blue has been extremely cuddly lately. She was distracted by something when I tried to take a picture the other day. Look how fluffy she is!! Also look at super cute brown jacket hanging in the back ground. My mom and I found it on SUPER sale at this store in Graham, Texas. The store was closing in 2 days and trying to get rid of everything. 

So a couple months ago, I was leaving town and this ADORABLE puppy ran in front of my truck. I ended up taking it to the shelter because I was on my way out of town for a week. He was by far the cutest thing ever. On the way to the shelter he fell fast asleep in the truck and was snoring!  I put his picture on Facebook in hopes that someone would possibly want him. A friend that I use to live overseas with happen to be living in the same town as me and saw his picture. He went and adopted the young puppy. This is a picture of Willie from yesterday. He is almost 70 lbs and " crazy laid back"

Julie and I went to dinner last night at Carabas. Super freaking yummy by the way. As we were leaving the sky just look absolutely amazing. So I had to take a picture

I have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest. I have made more wreaths (3) this year than I have ever made. This one was made for Anthony's house. 

Julie's boyfriend came to town for a couple days. So we made sure that we all got together for dinner one night. Also made sure that we rocked his world by putting some Chuys creamy jalapeno and queso together. 

Last but not least. Judith! She was super sad while Anthony was packing for his trip to Austin. She looked like she was going to cry.

Is it Halloween yet?

The other day I came to the realization that in two pay periods (Because that is how I judge time) that it will be October 1st!!!! This made me probably as a excited as a little kid on Christmas morning. I have always loved to decorate, but have never been really good at it. That all changed when a little website called Pinterest was invented. I have found so many awesome thing that I want to do for Halloween and Christmas from it. I have two projects in mind. I am going to try and buy supplies for them this weekend. 

 1. Glass jars. These look super easy to make, and super convenient for both Holidays.

2. Chalk board pumpkin!! I have seen so many ideas to use with chalk paint. I have finally found one that looks simple enough for me to try.

Instead of writing Trick or Treat.. I am going to have a Halloween count down on it! 

3. BOO, EEK, CHRISTMAS letters. I have the Halloween paper already to make the Halloween ones.

Insta-Friday Link Up :)

It is Friday again, and I love linking up with Jeannett for Insta-Friday. :) 

Every Friday, I start to do this link up and I think.. wow I don't remember any pictures that I took this week. So I look thru my camera roll. Also new pictures in there. So here is how my last week went.....

On Labor Day I acquired several new pieces of furniture. This was the TV stand that I got.  

I love it! 

So, This little fan has become a huge friend of mine in my locker room after workouts. I shower,

and I still cant get cooled off. Until I found this little friend. 

What a difference it has made!! 

This is our friends dog. She is probably the NICEST and most Gentle dog ever. She does not have many facial expressions so I am glad I caught this one. I am almost positive Anthony was telling her to stop 

barking... Her eyes say " Who do you think you are? You are not my dad"

I graduated from TCU in 2008 and my Brother is currently a student-athlete there now. He put Dream Big, because at the time he was trying out for the Football team. It has been his dream to be a TCU football player forever. This past Monday, his dream came true. He was informed that he made the team. Tomorrow he will suit up and be on the sidelines as a TCU Football Player. I am so proud of him. 

 This is how our Basketball Coach comes to watch Football practice. Laying down, on the pads, in the shade. 

 My Roommate and I!! As you can see, both of us are reppin' TCU. People need to learn we are not just TCU Alumni. We know TCU football. So don't start with us because you will be schooled by girls      

cough cough.....random boise state fan.....cough cough :) 

 Tomorrow is our season opener. This season has to huge things about it. 

1. We entered the Big 12

2. Brand new stadium renovation. All done by donated money. Not one cent in debt. GO FROGS!! 

I found these on pinterest on day. I was bored at home and tried to make them the other day. They work great! 

& Last but not least. This is a picture of two of my students from when I worked at a different high school. Both now high school graduates. Makes me proud. They are great kids.

Trials and Tribulations

In June, I made a trip to Kansas to see a great friend of mine. While there, we spent several evenings laying on the couch watching College Baseball and playing on Pinterest. We found some cinnamon rolls that we wanted to make ohhh so bad. Buuuutttttt this picture describes how they turned out. 

We went to the store and bought all the things we needed. I took step by step pictures because I had high hopes that this would turn out like the pictures!

At this point we knew we weren't going to be successful, but decided to attempt and finish

Our turnout  is on the Left.......................what they are suppose to look like on the right! 

so as you may see... we NAILED IT!!! :) They tasted pretty dang good though!!

Oh Pinterest- How easy it is to kill time in the middle of the day with you!

So, Since its the summer and I have an unlimited amount of time on my hands I have been doing several things during the middle of the day. Improving my Tennis skills, Watching Greys on Netflix, and playing on pinterest even more than usual. (Its really sad to be honest).  Several things I have found on pinterest that interest me!

I have lived in sevearl different places, and think this would be awesome to make.

 **Sappiness Warning**

Its been almost 9 months, and I still feel this way whenever I see Anthony.

 Thinking a little too far ahead.. But Anthony LOVES Disney World so I am sure he would really enjoy these sweatshirts.

Never thought about painting strips on a wall like this.

TOTALLY happening for TCU football this year!!

 So, I saw both movies. I saw Ted  on date night. I can honestly say I didnt pay attention to one bit of the movie. I had a horrible  migraine.

Magic Mike- HORRIBLE MOVIE. Probably the WORST filming and "Plot" I have ever seen in a movie. But did I go see it twice (Early bird prices the first time, and then the second someone had a gift card). Channing Tatum is absolutly gorgeous!

5th Edition

Dear Monday: Finally a week where I am not unpacking only to pack again to go out of town this weekend

Dear Six Flags:  Such a great time! We got there around 1030, and in 4 hours we got to ride on 5 rides. That isn't bad considering we stood in line for the batman roller coaster for over 1 1/2 hours!!

Dear Roller Coasters: Much more fun than I thought you were. Figured out I do NOT like the ones that drop, but love the upside down and corkscrews.

Dear Pinterest: Why do you have to have the cutest things? I can't help but post cute wedding and baby stuff.

Dear Hot, Humid, Houston weather: This is not a good sign for August 2 a days.

Oh Friday

 So its finally Friday and after yesterdays mood, I am HAPPY its Friday, and I am also happy that I am in a much much MUCH better mood than yesterday.  

                      My weekend has quite a few things planned that I am excited about!

1. Helping out with Ironman

2. Astros Baseball game 

3. Teaching CPR (I am a nerd, but I am excited about this)

4. Being able to sleep in both Saturday and Sunday past 515 am!! 

5. Only ONE more full week of the school year

I have really been trying to not eat out as much. For several reasons of course, The first and foremost, I am trying to save some money and pay off some debt that I have left from College. Also, It is so much healthier to eat at home, and its quite fun cooking.  

Now, I did not make these, NOR are they healthy at all, but they are pretty darn good!!! 

I have been trying to be adventurous with wines. 

Homemade Spaghetti with meatballs and sausage... mmmhhhmmmm

 So, I found myself playing on pinterest quite often. I have added a few pictures today that just make me laugh when I see them, and considering its friday, lets make it a good and funny Friday!! 

I wish I could do this! 

It is sad, but I think of one and only ONE person for this one! 

Julie.... Anthony... Mike... She is not fat!
