Six Flags

This past weekend we went to Six Flags in Arlington.  It was Anthony and I with 2 other couples.  Anthony and I drove up on Friday, along the way, we took a slight detour and visited my grandparents. They have never met Anthony so it was nice that they finally got to meet him.  Once we all got to Dallas that evening we went out for some dinner and drinks, and it was a blast!! I haven't laughed like that in quite a while.

The next morning was the day of the trip! Six Flags!!! I haven't been in years, and I am not going to lie. I was extremely nervous and not really excited to go on the roller coasters. I have always been afraid of them. But, I decided it was time to stop being a baby and take the plunge (no pun) and give them a try. I learned that I really like them!! I just hate the part where you drop and come out of your seat. I do NOT like that! But I love the upside down and corkscrew ones.

No drops, so one of my favorites! It was the Batman Ride. Well worth the 1 1/2 wait!

The Titan. I am glad we rode it first. I HATED it. Almost cried. It goes over 65mph AND has the biggest dip. NOT FUN!

Texas Giant, AWESOME!! Little drops which were okay.

The entire weekend was awesome and I had a great time! I am one lucky girl to have met some amazing people through Anthony.

5th Edition

Dear Monday: Finally a week where I am not unpacking only to pack again to go out of town this weekend

Dear Six Flags:  Such a great time! We got there around 1030, and in 4 hours we got to ride on 5 rides. That isn't bad considering we stood in line for the batman roller coaster for over 1 1/2 hours!!

Dear Roller Coasters: Much more fun than I thought you were. Figured out I do NOT like the ones that drop, but love the upside down and corkscrews.

Dear Pinterest: Why do you have to have the cutest things? I can't help but post cute wedding and baby stuff.

Dear Hot, Humid, Houston weather: This is not a good sign for August 2 a days.

Edition 4? I think so.

Dear Monday: Today was awesome, because I am not at work this week.

Dear Courtney: Thank you for opening your home to me for the past several days, and your family for welcoming me as apart of the Family.

Dear Texas: I'll be home tomorrow!!!

Dear Shopping: Why must I buy crap when I am on vacation? I always forget I have to take it back in the same suitcase that I brought

Dear CWS: That was such an amazing experience and I am so glad that I got to go. It is something that I will never forget

Dear Running: I cant wait to get back to Texas and pick you back up tomorrow. I did one run while I was here, but on a treadmill and it S.U.C.K.E.D!!!

So I am not sure, but I don't think I gave credit to the person who I am borrowing Dear Monday from. I do not know her personally, but a friend from college follows her blog, and I have sort of to. So Thank You Ashley @ Celebrating Life as an Army Wife for the Dear Monday.

Collge World Series

Since I am in Kansas for several days and the College World Series is in going on right now, Courtney and I decided to make the short 3 hour trip to Omaha to see it. We left around noon on Saturday, and got there around 330ish that afternoon. Her younger brother is up there with his little league team and we were able to get some free General Admission tickets to the game from him. For those of you who have never been, General Admission tickets are the outfield seats. They let in the first 5,500 spectators, and then as people leave the let more people in. It is an experience!!!  Once we got to the stadium and walked the mile from our car, we decided to walk around and try some zestos ice cream before getting in line for the 8 pm game.

While in line for Zestos, Courtney and I realized just how small the world is. This guy behind us was hitting on this marketing intern, and since we are both nosey and were ease dropping on the conversation, I heard the girl say she was originally from Texas! So I asked where in Texas.. get this.. we graduated from the SAME high school 3 years apart from each other!!!!  To make the world even smaller, she was a diver at Purdue and one of her teammates was an old athlete of Courtney's from Kansas.

During the game, they have beach ball balloons that they toss up between innings and its just a great atmosphere. We saw two fights, several people kicked out of the game, and of course we happened to miss a proposal that happened a couple rows away from us.

The experience was overall an B. The single reason I wont give it an A is because we were not there cheering on our beloved TCU Horn Frogs. (Who were only 2 wins away from being in there... dang you UCLA. One more loss and your done!!!)

We decided to drive back the 3 hours after the game (game ended at midnight) back to Kansas. Poor Courtney drove through horrible rain to get there and then through horrible fog on the way back. But I am pretty sure she would say it was worth it!

In the car beginning our trip to Omaha
The lovely storm she drove though

We found TCU Fans!

People started writting numbers on the beach balls
This resturant is everywhere!!

Our view

On the way up there, we had to pass through 2 states, and I was able to mark off 2 states on my 50 states list! I am now down to 23 to see!

New state to cross off!!

Stupid Nebraska did NOT have a Welcome sign

On a random note, I purchased my Erin Condren Life Planner before I left to come to Kansas!! I am super excited for it. If you have one, you probably know how awesome it is. I just ordered my first and I am So excited!! If you are interested, Megan over at Growing Up is Actually Kind of Fun is having a giveaway for I believe a $25 gift card. Go give it a look.

Well that is it for Today, Tomorrow will be a new Dear Monday! Look for it!

Super Slacking

I seriously have been slacking on keeping my blog up to date. Since school got out I have been super busy with sleeping enjoying life :)

I absolutly LOVE the summer time. I get see the people I havent seen in a while, I get to sleep in (YIPPIE), and I get to travel.

Traveling is probably one of my favorite things to do. This summer my trips may not be long distance, or going fabulous places, but they are getting me out of Houston and away from my normal life.   So far I have been to the DFW area. I got to spend time with my bestie. Even if it was just a simple going to a going away party (of a person I do not know), We got to just hang out and have a beer together.

My Bestie and I
I also got to see my aunts, cousins, and grandparents while I was out of town there.
This upcoming weekend I am going to Kansas to see a great friend from college. Miss Courtney Iverson!!  As I was putting these pictures in, I realized that I have known Courtney for 6 + years. That is amazing since majority of our friendship has been when both of us live in seperate states!! Ahh I love great friendships!
Iverson and I at Easter a couple years ago

Same Easter
Courtney and I in San Diego before I turned 21 (WOW, almost 7 years ago)
