hope you had as many laughs as I did while doing things.

5 on Friday

Oh it is Friday. I love Friday. I woke up in a great mood and I am ready to take on the day. This weekend should be pretty low key. Next weekend is a packed weekend, so I am excited to be able to get laundry done and clean the house a little.

Link up here!!

{one}
Tax Refund. I am beyond ready and starting become impatient waiting on my tax refund to hit my bank account. I have lots of stuff that I need to accomplish and using that money for it.

{two}
Figure Skating. Did anyone watch it at the Figure skating yesterday for the Olympics? The Russian girl won by almost 20 points AND she had a slip up in her routine. Can't help but think that having home field advantage helped on that one.

{three}
Tuesday was a horrible day for me. Ever wake up and just know that the day has already gone to crap? Before I even left for work, I laid down next to A and started crying.

A: Why are you crying?
Me: Because it is so hot in this house

Yes, at that moment, I was sweating, and in a bad mood. I was crying because it was hot. (Sadly this is not the first time this has happened. I will have to tell ya'll that other story one day)  Poor A did so well, he told me the day would get better and he would see me at home that night. I got home, and he was making me Velveeta mac and cheese. BEST thing on the planet. I cheered up a little at that moment.

{four}
I have Sirus XM in my car right now, and let me tell you. I LOVE the 90's on the 9 station. These past mornings, they have been playing a great mix of The Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Brittany Spears, Salt N Pepper, Lisa Loeb, Spice Girls, and last but not least Hanson.

{five}

Snap Chat. Who does it? Who loves it? Who has NO clue what in the world it is?
I downloaded the app probably a month ago and these past couple weeks I have fallen in love with it. You can have a full on conversation with someone thru pictures.  At one point, my cousin and I were sending random pictures of things around us to each other. It is a run way to catch up and keep connected, besides the usual "hey, how are you?" text message.

Does 8 make me a runner?

 What makes a person a "runner"?

I have been training for a half marathon since January. It is a goal that a friend and I set to out to do. She is one of those people that when she puts her mind into something, she goes for it. She has an ungodly amount of self control and motivation. (I am extremely jealous) I also lived with lovely Julie from Journey to 26.2, who has the same self determination as the girl I am training with. I so wish, that it would have rubbed off on me.

Anyways,  we are using Hal Higdon's Novice Half Marathon Training. For the beginning of it, the long runs were 4-5 miles, which I could do. Not easily, but I knew that I could do them.  So I didn't really stick to the weekly training runs. This past week, we ran 7 on our long run. 7 freaking miles. My previous longest was during my one and only 10K. So I am pretty sure that I had a huge mental block there. But I didn't do any of my weekly runs, thinking "eh, I'll be okay" Holy Wrong I was!!. There was a point that I looked at my friend and almost told her to get the firefighters from the nearby firehouse, because I was NOT going to be able to finish. Thankfully, she made me finish.

 Even A said to me Sunday night after I ran "Maybe you should do your weekly runs, it would make the longer runs easier"

Needless to say, this week is an 8 week run, and I have been doing the weekly runs. Yesterday, was a short run. 4 miles. WHAT? short run 4 miles? That used to be a long run for me.

So my question becomes, what do you think qualifies a person to be a runner?  I am curious because I feel like that is a huge title, and I am in no way qualified for that.

Jen (the girl I am running with) and I went to Lukes Locker Sunday to buy new shoes, and all I wanted to buy was the 13.1 sticker that goes on cars. Is it strange that I am excited to just finish the run, but I am 10 times more excited to put that sticker on my car?  Last time I was this excited for a sticker on my car, it was my TCU Alumni sticker. (Let me tell you, College was one hard time for me. I am a proud college graduate of Texas Christian University. People ask if it was hard to get into school there, my response was always .... "it was harder to stay in school"... side note: ask my brother about that "the smart kid" of the family... mr. almost got kicked out because of my grades at TCU.- Major side note!)

Well I am off to get some work done.

I have an exciting afternoon planned. Can't reveal it yet, hopefully it will work out. :) Wish me luck.

Wedding talk

I feel like I need to do a little wedding talk. I have been avoiding talking about it to friends and family because I am sure they are sick of hearing about it by now.  Some things I have been getting done for it

*Make-Up trial-  I used a recommendation of my hair dresser. Her niece is in cosmetology school. I thought 'great!! cheap and give her some experience'. I went for the trial and I won't be using her. She was very professional, but she is 17. A high school junior. I am just not comfortable leaving my make up to her. She did an okay job, but not outstanding.

* Hair trial- I have my hair trial Sunday. I am excited. Here are some pictures of what I'm looking for

                                                          Which one do ya'll like?

*Dress Alterations- I need to take my dress this week to get altered. One fitting this month, one next and then the last one several weeks prior to the wedding.

* We ordered our wedding favors!!!  A asked if we could do something besides purple because "Everything else is purple" lol his exact words. I had to giggle a little at that.

* I need to pay a deposit on our limo for after the wedding, I also need to book the hotel for the night prior, and the night after. A wants to stay on Lake Conroe, so I am booking a hotel for the night before with me and the bridal party, and then the hotel for the night of the wedding.

*Bridesmaids gifts- I know now what I want to get them. I just need to order them.

* Pictures- I am trying to get pictures of A as a kid and do a slide show of him and I. I need to probably start working on that sooner rather than later.

* In Montgomery County you can apply for your marriage license as early as 90 days out from your wedding. The license is valid for 90 days after issuance. We are at day 89. Which means.... We could technically get it now!!!

* We finally found a bedroom set that we BOTH love. I am EXTREMELY picky about my comforter and the fabric etc. So, I made sure to go to feel it and look at it in person before decided that this was the one!!  I added it to our registry at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I wanted to go ahead and buy it yesterday, but I decided to put it on our registry instead.

* A finally picked out his ring. I am going to wait for my Tax Refund to come in so that I can purchase it. :)

I think that is a nice little update! Hope ya'll enjoyed reading it.  Oh, everyone has been talking about their valentines day. We had an appetizer of crawfish (long back story) and spaghetti. Best night ever. :)

Have a nice evening.

Been blessed

Look at the pretty new page that I have!! My great friend Julie from Journey to 26.2 designed this WHOLE thing for me!! She asked me some questions, gave me some homework to do and VOILA a beautiful new page for moi. I am just 100% in love with it all.

I have been trying to find something I love probably since I started this blog and never found anything that I just couldn't fall in love with. I think this is my first true love of my blog hehe.

This next part will be short. I have been insanely blessed to be healthy and have a healthy family and soon to be in laws. But today we have received news that 2 family members where put in the hospital.One is A's uncle, and the other is my maw-maw. My maw-maw had a stroke in November and  has just not been the same since. She was put in the hospital for pneumonia right now. It isn't life threatening at the moment, but I am still scared.

Praying that everything goes okay and they get released from the hospital soon.

Have a great Friday and Valentines day!!

Coins + Neighbours

First off, I had ever intention of hanging out in the living room with A and typing this post while he watched tonight's new The Walking Dead. But I got maybe 30 seconds into the episode before having to move into the bedroom. I can NOT do the zombie noises.  I know that sounds weird. But those noises give me nightmares and the creeps. So now I am watching the best show on TV.... Law & Order.

On Saturday A and I decide that we needed to sort through and roll a TON of coins. I know that we can take it to coin star but they charge like 7-10% of the total, and we are a little over half way done and we are already at close to $500, so 10% is quite a bunch of money.

The JuJu wanted to help us count and roll the coins.

So, we have this neighbor. He is a great guy, is the "Man" of the house. All women live there. He is pretty ghetto. But he is our neighborhood watch guy. Well the man is not someone you want to be driving behind sometimes. We can always tell when he is high because he drives SO DANG SLOW! I am not lying. Today, we were coming home and got behind him in the neighborhood. It took us almost 10 minutes to get to the house, it usually takes a max of 2 minutes.  He is so funny.

Does anyone else have neighbors with weird quirks?  We have several other ones! Including the man old man how hit my car and used his cancer and heart attack as an excuse to not fess up to it.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Five on Friday

It is Friday, again. I couldn't be  more excited. It amazes me how much time has flown by this school year. We are already in Baseball/Softball season. That means we have boy and girls soccer, boys basketball, track, baseball, softball and tennis going on. Needless to say, it is one busy time of the year for us at work. So I truly enjoy my weekends.  Now onto the purpose of this post. Five on Friday. Here is the Link Up for all those interested.

{one}Jay Leno
Jay Leno had his last show last night. I am not usual up late enough to watch those shows, but if I ever am, Jay was the one for me to watch. I am not sure why, but I just really enjoyed his humor and guest spots. So when I heard that his last night was last night, I had to make sure I recorded it, then I read that Garth Brooks would be performing. I LOVE Garth Brooks. He is the one act that I would pay hundredS of dollars to see. He played Friends in low places and I cried. How pathetic am I?

{two}Racquetball
A and I used to play racquetball at the YMCA once or twice a week probably a year ago. Life got busy and we just stopped going.  Well Wednesday, we went to re-instate our membership and I made us go play racquetball last night. I forgot how much fun we have playing, also, what a workout it was!! I have NEVER beat him. That is okay though, because he is REALLY good (like wins 3-15 or 11-15) and he doesn't just let me win. So the one day I do win, it will be because I am better than him (hehehehe) Win or Lose it is a great time. We always end up laughing and getting in a great work out.

{three} I got help!!
For my International Management course, we have to do a ton of busy work. One of the assignments is to answer random, yet assigned questions from the end of each chapters. I hate these. I never know what kind of answers the professor wants. I really struggle with it. Well, yesterday as I was working on it, I found a sticker (on the front of my book.. way to be blind) that said " Stuck? This book had guided solutions". I went to check it out, it basically has the teacher edition online and gives the answers to the questions in the chapters. $14.99 a month for 3 months. DONE!! It gives me just enough guidance that I can take it and answer in my own words and give different examples. I am one happy gal.

{four} Dark Horse

Right now, I am obsessed with the Katy Perry song Dark Horse. There is something about it that puts me in a good mood. I don't think its my favorite song (that is Friends in Low places) but for right now, it works well for me!!

{five} 100
Today marks 100 days till A and I exchange our vows and become husband and wife. I am speechless about it. I am ready for it to be here, but I still have so much left to do. I bought my veil off Etsy last night. It was about $400 cheaper than the one I tried on at Brick House. I will only be wearing it for the ceremony, so I didn't want to spend a ton of money on it. I am hoping to get my tax refund in the next couple days, and I can start buying bridesmaids gifts etc. eeekk!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday

Biggest Loser

*****SPOILER ALERT***** Also, my personal opinion and a little Music information.

I have always loved the show The Biggest Loser. I always thought it was super inspirational and a good show to watch, plus it is emotional and that always draws me to a show. But this season was different for me. I loved last season, I follow several of the contestants on Twitter and secretly want to meet Danni. She really is an inspiration.
There are several reason that this season bothered me.

First- The show doesn't show enough nutritional and food parts. I will admit, I use to firmly believe that working out was all you needed. That it didn't matter what went in your mouth. That has drastically changed for me this year. Julie made a comment to me over the summer that woke me up. Something about no amount of exercise will overcome crap you eat. I have been working my butt off, and when I don't eat right, I don't see a difference in the scale or the measurements. But WOW, when I eat right, what a change I see.  So basically, I feel like the show is making a false statement that working out is the only thing that matters when you are trying to lose weight.

Second- The way they act when they only lose 2 or 3 lbs!! I would be ECSTATIC if I lost that amount of weight at every weigh in. Now I understand that it is a competition and the goal is to lose weight quick. But still. The suggested weight loss in 1-2 lbs a week. That is sustainable and something that makes a life change. Which leads me to the next thing....

Third- Where are all the old contestants? If they are "changing their lives" lets see them now!!! I just have this feeling that only a small number of them lost the actual weight and kept it off. The lifestyle that they lived on the ranch is so unrealistic. Working out 5-6 hours a day is just not possible for most people.

Fourth and final- this is the spoiler alert.

The girl who won, weighed in at 105 lbs. That is my left leg. To me, she looked extremely too thin and unhealthy. This is the first time I have seen this on the winner and I think it is gross.  Here are some photos that I got from a Yahoo Article.

I am not sure if these  pictures do it justice. When she was weighing in, the numbers fluctuate and at one point it went down to 86. I am not sure if that is just the producers putting random numbers in there, but seeing that number made me sick to my stomach. I just feel like, that is setting up unrealistic goals for women. This girl lost 155 lbs in several months. That is not normal, nor is it healthy in my eyes.

What are your opinions? Do you think she lost too much weight? When is too much too much?

On a totally random note- A used to be an Sound Engineer and work with bands. He went on tour for about 4-5 years with a couple bands. So he is what I would consider an expert on bands and performing. He even went to college for it. We got to talking about the Red Hot Chili Peppers and how their instruments were "unplugged" for the Super Bowl half time show. His response "Yeah, that's normal. Only the singer's mic is plugged in. Never are their instruments plugged in for a live show like that. Concerts, yes. But things like that. Never." So just an fyi... the media is hyping up something that is stupid and just not news worthy. :)

Well that is all!

Lost 7 Million

There is a furniture company here called Gallery Furniture. It is a huge store, and the owner is Mattress Mack. He is always giving back to the community and running good deals. Yesterday though, may not has been his best deal.. for him. His customers got a sweet deal though.

If you bought $6,000 worth of furniture, had it delivered by 5 pm on Superbowl Sunday, there is a chance you could get your money back.. but only if Seattle wins the Superbowl.

Guess who won the Superbowl..... Yep. The Seattle Seahawks.

This morning, he was on the news talking about he lost $7 million in that deal. That is ALOT of money.

Speaking of the Superbowl, we planned on having a good group of people come over and enjoying the new coolers, and washer boards A and I got for Christmas, but the weather didn't want that to happen. A couple people still came over and we stayed inside and watched the game. It was a fun night either way. Plus, it meant that I had to deep clean the house before they all came over, soooo the house is clean today! haha It is the little things I enjoy.

I was reading some blogs this morning, and saw that some people are doing monthly goals. If you have read this blog for a while, you know that I love goals. I tend to forget about them, but there is something about making a plan and goals that I enjoy. So I am going to jump on that bandwagon

February Goals

1. Finish my Kettle Worx program.
2. Run every run in the Half Marathon plan
3. Address my invitations
4. Follow a cleaning schedule for the entire month
5. Eat wheat-free 5/7 days of the week
